Our Rainy Day in Pictures
Yesterday was every stay-at-home mama's worst nightmare....The Rainy Day! After we began to get cabin fever (at about 7:00am) We decided to have a very fancy carport picnic. We then made the rainy day into what every girl loves....a shoe day! We went and purchased Daisy's first pair, (and second pair!) of big girl shoes. For us this is a big deal because we have to drive an hour to another small town to find a children's shoe store. Here are some pictures of our big day!
Our super fancy carport picnic
We started out our shoe day trying on some of Mama and Aunt Jenny's old shoes.
Then we checked out some of Mama's shoes. This is one of her favorite things to do!
Trying out one of our new pairs of shoes.
Showing of our beautiful new shoes!

Mother's Day Out.....or in, or out?
Well, we survived! Daisy is ten months old as of last Friday and we have not spent more than eight waking hours apart since she was born. Total! So the idea of Mother’s Day Out, a program at the local First Baptist Church, is a little daunting. But, we girded our loins and made the very short half mile trek from our house to the church this morning. We were an hour late for our four hour separation but we did make it and I have to give a huge shout out to the women that make this short break for mothers possible. They were so very kind and reassuring to this nervous mama that I felt as comfortable as I could leaving Daisy.
There were four other little ones in her group and she set right off to play once we made it and I snuck out as soon as she could. It seemed a very long walk to the car. After getting home and doing chores and fixing lunch for Matt and me, the two and a half hours I lasted had flown by. Matt went with me to pick her up. I was so nervous as we walked to her little door, and so thankful I didn’t hear any crying. As soon as she saw us her little faced screwed up and she started crying for all she was worth. After thanking the very kind ladies and being assured she had not cried the entire time I was gone we made our way to the car, me cooing the whole time to a trembling Daisy that I would never leave her again. All the while Matt is talking to both of us to calm us down and we make a very interesting picture on a beautiful afternoon leaving the church in tears.
We did survive however and regardless of my comforting cooing earlier we will try again next Tuesday.
Ode to The Little Red Car
Recently very few pictures of Daisy have been taken without accompaniment of her little red car. This car was bought for $15.00 at a consignment sale and customized for Sweet Daisy for free by her crazy mama. It is by far her prized possession of the moment.
The Most Loved Little Red Car
After riding on her car to our side yard, Daisy gets off and checks out every bit of it much as I have seen both her grandfathers and her father do to our cars on many occasions. She LOVES this car. After checking her car out she will push it for a while and then sit and pat it like an old horse while sprinkling it with grass. She LOVES this car. This car hauls her, her toys, her snack-time picnic, her blankets and anything else you can imagine. She LOVES this car.
Little Red Car accompanies us to our snack-time picnic
Her daddy and I also LOVE this car. It entertains her for at least thirty minutes a stretch and wears her out at the same time. We LOVE this car.

The Beginning
This is the beginning of my blog. Just a warning, I have no idea what I am doing not just on this blog but pretty much in every aspect of my life. I guess to make myself feel better I will start by listing a few things I do know and with my mommy brain this list may be very short.
- I am the stay at home mama of a beautiful, smart and sometimes infuriating 10 month old baby girl.
- I am the wife to a handsome, smart and sometimes infuriating husband.
- I have just moved from Jacksonville, FL to a tiny town in Alabama and am enjoying the challenge of adjusting
- I love to try and turn turn junk into treasure (well I come up with the ideas and my hubby does most of the work)
- I LOVE to bake anything, unless it is healthy.
- I work on being crafty. I like the idea just have trouble with the action.
- Of everything I have done in my life I have worked hardest at being a good mother. The success of my hard work will be found out in oh, twenty years or so
- Although this last year has had its ups and down it has been the most interesting and amazing of my life so far.
And we're off!
