Daisy Visits the Pumpkin Patch

Hello everyone! We are loving this fall weather and celebrated it today by going to a corn maze/pumpkin patch. Daisy seemed to really enjoy it, until she fell asleep on the hay ride. We went with some friends who have a little girl a little older than Daisy and Daisy seems to be fascinated by her. It is really sweet. We also met some more friends there and their little boy is in some of the pictures with Daisy. He was facinated with Daisy.

Waiting for our friends to head to the pumpkin patch!

Getting ready for the hay slide with Daddy
Still not sure about all of this
They made it!

Our favorite attraction the plastic windmills!
On top of the world
We found a tractor just her size (this is also a new word)
She may have missed her red car but she could push a tractor

Fall, fairs and her first lovey

Daisy and I have had a lovely couple of days, and not just because Matt has been gone :) We have been enjoying the weather SO much! I have to admit Daisy sweats like me when she gets active. There is no shimmering or glowing for us Smith-Diamond girls, we sweat. So I think we both love when the weather turns and we can run all over the yard and stay nice and comfortable. And run we do! Daisy is pretty much jogging everywhere now. She is so excited about being able to get where she wants to go she can't wait to get there. I LOVE it! One of her new favorite things to do is kick her big pink ball. I swear we chased that ball all over the yard all afternoon. Her big pink ball may be her new little red car. Stay tuned!

We also went to the county fair this evening. Daisy LOVED the animals and was either very unimpressed or terrified by the rest of the fair. She got out and walked around all the animal and then stayed bundled up as we  walked all over the rest of the fair. We had a nice time. It was so great to get out and do something different then our normal routine. Plus we got to see where Matt has been volunteering  every evening this past week.

Another noteworthy development comes from Daisy's blanket. She officially has a lovey. She has begun carrying around her blanket everywhere. If I leave the room she will follow me to see where I am going and then run get her blanket and drag it to wherever I am, then sit and play with her blanket near. It is so sweet.

Bundled up for the cold
Cuddly Baby!
Her blankie
Ready for the fair!
Meeting a pony for the first time. She was entranced.
Daisy turned tour guide pointing out the pig to everyone that passed. She soon became the attraction.
These were the cutest cows ever
She loved the bunnies!

Hello Again!

Hey Everyone! Sorry it has been so long. It is easy to get busy with Daisy these days. She is a walking fool. About a month ago she took her first tentative steps and in the days since then she has been practicing and getting stronger and about two weeks ago she took off. She is walking everywhere now. She literally walks circles around the house each day, continuously. I LOVE that she is walking. So many people told me I would hate her walking so early but it is awesome to me. We take a walk around our (very large) yard and down to the mail box every day. Daisy loves it  and it is fun to see how much she loves her independence. Plus now she can easily follow me around the house during the day while we do our chores.

New words for the week:

Dah-by (Darby)
peas (please)
wah-er (water)

Her favorite words are still "dog" and "darby"
She also say "hi" all the time.  It is my favorite thing she says because she says it in such a soft sweet voice. I love it.

She is also starting to find her temper every now and then. Luckily she is a quick study and  stops fussing once she realizes I am ignoring it. I am secretly happy she is showing some temper. Until now she has been so quiet and passive. I know there will be times I hate it but she has such a sweet temperment the majority of the time I am glad to see something different.

And now some pictures.....

Daisy Update

I am SO bad at keeping track of Daisy’s accomplishments. Almost as bad as I am about videoing her accomplishments (she has been taking steps for weeks and we still have no video) so I decided to list a few stats on Daisy.
Word she says frequently:
Light (her favorite)
Dog
Dada
That
Sky
Thank You
Hi or Hello

Words she has said a few times:
Fish (thank you G-Paw)
Drink
Darby
Book

Notice what word is not on this list? Mama. She refuses to say Mama. Matt says it is because I am always here so she never needs to ask for me. Thanks Matt that makes me feel much better (note the sarcasm).
Here are a few of Daisy’s favorites:
Broccoli- She will pass over any other food to get to broccoli.
Her Blanket:  She doesn’t have a favorite yet but she loves to have a blanket with her at all times
Dogs: She seems to love animals of all kinds but her favorite is Nonnie and G-Paw’s 700 year old dog Peppy. I think if she had to choose between me and Peppy, he would win every time.
Books, books, and more books: She is constantly handing me books to read to her. I think she would do it all day.
Eating: The kid has an appetite a huge appetite. This is one of the reasons we try to keep her food so healthy, she eats so much of it.

Mother's Day In

So Matt has finally made it back. He has gone out of town quite a few times since moving here to Small Town and I am trying to get used to it. It is ironic that when we move away from a place where Daisy and I had many Mama and baby friends and too many things we could get out do Matt starts to travel.  It is so different being in Small Town now. I am trying to be creative and come up with interesting things to do with Daisy to give her new experiences  and, thanks to some wonderful friends, we are guaranteed a lunch date at least once a week but I still sometimes compare what our life would be like if we had not moved to Small Town. Then, I kick myself in the booty and tell myself to get over it and move on.

Looking just like her Uncle B

We tried Mother’s Day Out once again today in an attempt to let me get out for a bit and give Daisy time around other children, something she desperately needs,  however things didn’t go quite as planned. After dropping her off around 10:00 I had high hopes for my few hours of freedom, clean house here I come, around 11:00 those hopes faded when my phone rang. Apparently Daisy had been crying nonstop since I left and was not calming down. So back to the church I went and when I get out of the car I hear my screaming baby. I rush inside and as soon as she sees me she smiles, points her finger and says “dat” (this is her words for anything she wants) and that was that. She did cling to me and press her head to my shoulder with so much force you could not have pried her off. Needless to say the kid is going through an extreme clingy stage. In her defense though, I will say she is just breaking through four, yes four, top teeth. I would want my Mama if I was going through that as well.

Another day another little red car picture.

The end!

Whew...what a weekend!

I am super tired from being a single mama for the last couple days so instead of write about our weekend trip I am just going to post some pictures and then get to bed!
Daisy and her cousin "I". They are so sweet together!

A very sleepy Daisy after a day of shopping with Mama, Nonnie and Aunt J.

Later that day, after a nap, playing with Uncle B.
Finally, a picture of me and my baby!
So sweet!

Beautiful in blue!
